Thrilling Sea Tours around the Caithness Coastline

Caithness Seacoast Ltd will only allow entry on to the vessel to those passengers who are willing to agree to Caithness Seacoast Ltd Terms and Conditions as set out below.

Bookings

1. Bookings can be made on an individual basis, or the vessel can be exclusively chartered.

2. All Prices are in Pounds Sterling, Caithness Seacoast Ltd do not charge VAT or booking fees.

3. All passengers must have paid in full before sailings.

4. All passengers must arrive at least twenty minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. This is to ensure that all passengers are prepared for the trip and are wearing life jackets and suitable clothing.

5. Failure to arrive twenty minutes before the scheduled departure time may, at the total discretion of Caithness Seacoast Ltd, result in the cancellation of the passengers booking.

6a. Caithness Seacoast Ltd are not responsible for factors that may lead to a passenger missing their trip, including; transport delays, weather conditions, parking issues and illness.

6b. Passengers are responsible for checking that they arrive at the correct departure location for their trip. No refunds or reschedules will be issued for missed trips.

7. Caithness seacoast Ltd reserve the right, if necessary, to deviate from the vessel’s advertised route, or change any time or day of a booking or cancel any booking with or without prior notice to the passenger.

8. Passengers who request’s to change a booking time/date must be a minimum of 12 hours in advance, and are completely at Caithness Seacoast Ltd’s discretion and will be subject to availability.

9. Caithness Seacoast Ltd will not be liable for any expense, loss of time, disappointment, inconvenience, or any other consequential loss suffered by the passenger in the event of a cancellation or postponement of a booking.

10. Any person attempting to gain admission to the vessel or being found on the vessel without a valid booking confirmation, may be removed from the vessel and the pier/pontoon.

11. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst on the vessel and the pier. Children between the ages of 16 but under 18 are permitted as passengers of Caithness Seacoast Ltd subject to, if requested, proof of age.

12. Exclusive charter bookings can only be made by persons aged 18 and over.

13. All prices are subject to change without notification.

14. Please note all advertised trip times are approximate timings only

Risks

All waterborne activities come with an inherent risk which should be considered before booking a trip with Caithness Seacoast. If the customer has any doubts regarding the suitability of a RIB trip, it is advised to get in contact with the Caithness Seacoast team to discuss.

Medical Conditions and Pregnancy

1. Pregnant women or people with existing back complaints/ heart complaints must advise Caithness Seacoast at the time of booking. Following a review of the medical issue, expected weather and tour length a decision will be made on whether to permit travel on our boat.

2. Passengers must advise Caithness Seacoast Ltd before booking of any medical conditions or disabilities that the passenger(s) are suffering from or have ever suffered from prior to booking, particularly, dizzy spells, epilepsy, back/bone conditions and diabetes (this is not an exhaustive list).

3. Caithness Seacoast Ltd will not accept any liability for personal injury, or injury to others and passengers participate entirely at their own risk.

Cancellation Policy

Although Caithness Seacoast strive to never cancel a tour, the customer’s safety is our priority. A tour may have to be cancelled at short notice or even suspended during the tour. In which case the customer may be accommodated on a later tour. Depending on the circumstances a full or partial refund may be appropriate.

By customer

Depending on the circumstances Caithness Seacoast Ltd may ask for a deposit at the time of booking. This especially applies to private charters. If a customer has made a confirmed booking and failed to appear for the trip or cancelled less than 12 hours prior to departure they will lose their deposit. We understand that there can be genuine reasons for having to cancel a booking at short notice; if the Caithness Seacoast Team is informed as soon as possible of any cancellations or changes to the booking, we strive to refund the deposit. However, we cannot guarantee that this will be possible, especially at short notice.

On confirming a booking, the customer agrees that to the best of their knowledge they, and any minors they are responsible for, are fit to board this trip, and are fully aware of our cancellation policy.

Complaints, Claims & Incidents

1. If the vessel has to return to the pier due to passenger illness or passenger anxiety (this is not an exhaustive list) Caithness Seacoast Ltd has no obligation to provide passengers with a refund or a replacement trip.

2. Replacements trips will only ever be offered at the total discretion of Caithness Seacoast Ltd.

3. Any passenger complaints should be made in writing within fourteen days of the complaint and addressed to either, Caithness Seacoast Ltd, Harbour Road, wick Harbour KW1 5HA.

4. Other than liability for death or personal injury resulting from Caithness Seacoast Ltd’s negligence, Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees and/or its agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising, including without limitation any distress, inconvenience or anxiety caused during the course of any trip undertaken and/or during evacuation from the vessel in the event of breakdown or accident.

5. Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees cannot be held responsible for the weather conditions during your trip.

6. Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees cannot be held responsible if the trip is cancelled, postponed, delayed or reduced in length or time due to changing weather conditions. Refunds or replacement trips will only be offered at the absolute discretion of Caithness Seacoast Ltd.

Video Recording & Photography

1. Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees reserve the right to use photographic equipment and/or video recordings and/or other monitoring equipment on or in the vicinity of the vessel which may feature passengers for advertising or promotional materials. Ownership of any intellectual property rights to the photographs and/or video recordings vests in Caithness Seacoast Ltd absolutely.

2. Caithness Seacoast Ltd allow passengers to take their own photographs and video recordings on the vessels. Caithness Seacoast Ltd accepts no responsibility if any photographic or video recording equipment is lost or damaged during the trip.

Clothing & Personal Belongings

1. Passengers should come prepared with suitable clothing that will not be damaged by exposure to water or sunlight.

2. Caithness Seacoast Ltd allows passengers to bring personal belongings onto the vessel, however Caithness Seacoast Ltd will accept no responsibility if any personal belongings are damaged or lost at any time whilst on the vessel.

3. Caithness Seacoast Ltd accepts no responsibility if any personal belongings are damaged, lost or stolen at any time whilst on the pier/pontoon.

4. All safety equipment and protective clothing issued, remains the property of Caithness Seacoast Ltd and must be returned at the end of the journey. Any items not returned will be considered stolen and the lead passenger will be required to pay for such items.

Other Terms & Conditions

1. All trips have a maximum number of 12 passengers.

2. Caithness seacoast Ltd reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse entry on to the vessel, any person who:

a. has behaved in a manner which, in the opinion of Caithness Seacoast Ltd, has, or is likely to have an effect on the safety or enjoyment of other passengers.

b. has used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to other passengers, other members of the public, or Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees, or in any way behaves in a threatening, abusive or insulting manner.

c. is or appears to be or has been under the influence of alcohol or other controlled substances.

d. refuses to obey the lawful instructions of the skipper.

4. Failure to adhere to any instruction issued by Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees may lead to the cancellation or postponement of the trip and/or the removal of any passenger failing to adhere to these instructions from the vessel and/or the pier.

5. Passengers must be seated at all times during the trip other than when instructed by Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees.

6. Passengers must wear life jackets at all times during the trip.

7. All offensive weapons or dangerous articles are strictly prohibited from the vessel and or the pier/pontoon.

8. Passengers may be requested to have their personal belongings searched by Caithness Seacoast Ltd.

9. Pets or animals of any nature are strictly prohibited on the vessel and or the pier without the prior permission of Caithness Seacoast Ltd.

10. Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited on the vessel and or the pier/pontoon.

11. Unnecessary noise, such as from the use of radio sets, mobile phones, video cameras and any other electrical equipment or any behaviour likely to cause annoyance to other passengers or confusion of any kind is not permitted on the vessel and/or the pier/pontoon.

12. Caithness Seacoast Ltd requires a mobile contact number for the lead passenger when the booking is made.

14. If any passenger deliberately or accidentally manually inflates an automatic life jacket other than when they are expressly instructed to do so by Caithness Seacoast Ltd and/or its employees then, Caithness Seacoast Ltd has the right to request a payment and the passenger has an absolute obligation to pay £75.00 for its re-assembly.

15. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable by any judicial or other competent authority, all other provisions of these Terms and Conditions will remain in full force and effect and will not in any way be impaired. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable but would be valid or enforceable if some part or parts of these Terms and Conditions were deleted, the term and/or condition in question will apply with the minimum modification necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

About Us

Caithness Seacoast Ltd was started in 2008 by local couple William and Adelaine Munro. The arrival of a new modern marina in Wick Harbour provided the inspiration to start their tour boat company. William has over 44 years seagoing experience (Merchant Navy ship’s captain for over 28 years) and local knowledge. This includes an active role with the local RNLI as a deputy launching authority and water safety officer. He is supported by his wife Adelaine who's marine experience includes RYA power boat level 2.
